Linktree vs Beacons: which link in bio fits you?

Linktree and Beacons both give you one address to put in a social profile, and both have a free plan. After that they point in different directions. Linktree stays close to a link page and adds paid layers around it. Beacons treats the link page as the front door of a small creator business, with a store, a media kit and email.

This comparison uses the two vendors' own pricing pages, read on 2026-10-11, and every cell in the table links to its source. We make GrapeLink, a link page you pay for once, so it appears as a third option for one narrow case: you only need a plain page. It is kept out of the Linktree and Beacons columns, and its limits have their own block.

Pick Linktree if

  • You want a simple link page that you can run on a free plan
  • You want Pro to remove the branding and open custom designs, at a lower price than Beacons Plus
  • You want scheduling of social posts and Instagram auto-replies on Premium
  • You like paying month by month, with a short free trial on the higher plans

Pick Beacons if

  • You sell digital products, courses or memberships from the same page
  • You want a media kit that updates itself for brand deals
  • You send email to an audience and want that tool bundled with the page
  • You want a free custom domain on the first paid plan

Each cell links to the vendor's own page it comes from. The last column is GrapeLink, limited to features it has today.

The verdict

Pick Linktree if you want a plain link page that stays free until you need branding removed or custom designs, and you may add scheduling or auto-replies later. Pick Beacons if you want a store, a media kit and email under one login and your page is a small business, not only a list of links. Consider GrapeLink if you want to pay once: GrapeLink costs $8 once and gives you unlimited links, themes, colors, analytics, social icons and a custom domain on a page you own, but it has no store, no email sending and no media kit.

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Linktree Pro is the first plan that removes its branding: $144 a year billed annually. Beacons Creator is its first paid plan, with a custom domain: $100 a year billed annually. The two plans do different jobs, so the gap says little about value. GrapeLink at $8 once costs less than one month of Linktree Pro billed monthly ($15).

Where GrapeLink falls short

No store, courses or memberships

Both Linktree and Beacons let you sell from the page. GrapeLink has no checkout, no products and no tipping. If you earn through your link page, neither the Linktree plans nor the Beacons plans are things GrapeLink replaces.

No email sending and no media kit

GrapeLink has an email sign-up block that stores addresses you can export, and it sends nothing. Beacons sends email for you and keeps a media kit up to date. GrapeLink has neither, and no Instagram auto-replies.

No free plan and a solo team

Both competitors let you start at $0. GrapeLink costs $8 before you publish. It is also built by one founder, so support is an email, not a help desk.

Two different ideas of a link page

Linktree's pricing page describes a ladder. Free holds unlimited basic links plus email and phone sign-ups. Starter adds a personalized page, unlimited featured links and basic analytics. Pro removes the Linktree branding and adds custom designs, selling with 0% fees and mailing list integrations. Premium adds link rules and routing, AI integrations, all-time analytics, data export, social media scheduling and Instagram auto-replies.

Beacons sells a wider bundle. Its free plan already lists a media kit, digital product sales, affiliate links, a monthly allowance of email sends and an Instagram auto-DM tool. Paid plans change limits and fees more than they unlock whole new areas: the Creator plan adds a custom domain and more email, Creator Plus removes the seller fee and adds courses and memberships.

What the prices look like on the page

Linktree shows each paid plan with a per-month price billed annually and the monthly price beside it: Starter $6 or $8, Pro $12 or $15, Premium $30 or $35. Those labels are on the page, so no guessing is needed.

Beacons shows the yearly total and a monthly figure with a strike-through: Creator $100 a year ($8.33 a month) against $10, Creator Plus $300 a year ($25) against $30, Creator Max $900 a year against $100. For Max the page prints $83.3 a month, but $900 spread over twelve months is $75. The page also says yearly billing gives 2 months free, which fits the Creator math: ten months of $10 is $100.

Beacons' plan table has a 'Remove Beacons branding' row, but which paid plan includes it was not readable in the page text, so check the comparison on beacons.ai before you count on it. On Linktree the answer is clear: Pro, at $144 a year billed annually.

Who should pick which

Pick Linktree when the page is the product: a tidy list of destinations that you want to look good, with the option to add analytics, scheduling or auto-replies later. Its free plan costs nothing and the paid steps are small.

Pick Beacons when the page is the start of a funnel. If you sell a guide, run a small course, send a newsletter and pitch brands with a media kit, having one login for all of it is the point. The price is a more complicated product and a seller fee of 9% until Creator Plus.

Both are fine choices. The wrong move is paying for the bigger platform to use only the link list.

Where a pay-once link page fits

Some people open either tool for a single reason: a page with their links, a picture and a bio, without a logo that is not theirs. For that case, GrapeLink is a third option at $8 once. It supports several pages per account, 14 preset themes, custom colors, a background image, social icons, YouTube and Spotify players, a custom domain, click analytics and a QR code.

If you need to sell, send email or keep a media kit, skip it. The limits block above lists what is missing, and the table marks every row GrapeLink lacks.
