A Zoho Forms alternative for people who outgrew 3 forms
Zoho Forms has a free plan that is limited in one obvious way: it allows 3 forms, 500 submissions a month and one seat. Most solo owners who pay Zoho do it to lift the 3-form limit. The cheapest paid plan, Basic, lists unlimited forms and 10,000 submissions a month for $10 a month when billed yearly, or $12 when billed monthly.
MangoForm is a pay-once form builder with no cap on forms or responses. It costs $25 one time. It is also much smaller than Zoho Forms. It cannot take payments, collect file uploads or plug into a CRM, and it has no approval chains or compliance options. This page is for the person who pays Basic mainly for the form count, and it says clearly who should stay.
MangoForm is a good fit if
- You pay for Zoho Forms Basic because the free plan stops at 3 forms
- Your forms are contact requests, sign-ups, surveys or applications where nobody pays or uploads a file
- You want forms that ask one question at a time, with a progress bar, rather than one long page
- You would rather pay once than renew a plan each year
Stay on Zoho Forms if
- You collect payments through your forms, which Zoho Forms supports through many gateways
- You already work inside Zoho, for example with its CRM, and your forms feed those apps directly
- You need approvals, HIPAA options, SMS notifications or file uploads in your forms
- You stay under 3 forms and 500 submissions a month, where the Zoho free plan costs nothing

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years
Basic is the cheapest Zoho Forms plan with unlimited forms, which is the limit that pushes most solo users off the free plan. We use its yearly-billing rate of $10 a month, the lower of its two prices. Standard and above add users, approvals and larger submission counts that MangoForm does not replace, and the Free plan is the better choice if 3 forms are enough.

What MangoForm does
Only features that exist in MangoForm today. If it isn't in this table, assume we don't have it.
| Feature | MangoForm | Zoho Forms |

| Around 20 question types: text, email, phone, number, date, dropdown, multiple choice, rating, NPS, opinion scale, ranking, matrix, yes/no, legal, statement, and a time question with earliest and latest bounds | Included | Zoho Forms lists smart fields, multi-page forms and choice availability limits; it gives no count of question types |

Where Zoho Forms is better
Payments through many gateways
Zoho Forms lists PayPal, Stripe, Square, Razorpay, Authorize.Net and several more, and even the Free plan allows up to 10 payment submissions. You can build an order form or a paid registration and take the money in one place. MangoForm has no payment field, so any form that has to charge people belongs on Zoho Forms.
The rest of the Zoho suite
Zoho Forms lists a CRM Forms feature that connects a form to Zoho CRM, and the company sells many other business apps. If your contacts, invoices and projects already live there, a form that feeds them directly saves real work. MangoForm sends data out through a webhook and a Zapier hook, and that is a narrower kind of connection.
Approvals, file storage and compliance
Higher Zoho plans list multilevel approval for submissions, file storage that grows from 200 MB to 10 GB, SMS and WhatsApp notifications, and on Premium HIPAA compliance and form encryption. MangoForm has none of these, so teams with review steps or regulated data should stay with Zoho.
Native mobile apps and AI form creation
Zoho's comparison page lists native iOS and Android apps for managing forms and submissions, plus AI tools that turn a prompt, a PDF or an image into a form. MangoForm has no mobile app and none of these conversion tools, and you build each form in the editor.
Where the Zoho Forms bill comes from
Zoho Forms prices by form count first, then by submissions and users. The free plan allows 3 forms. Once you need a fourth, you move to Basic, which lists unlimited forms and 10,000 submissions a month for one seat. Standard adds ten seats and 25,000 submissions, Professional 25 seats and 75,000, and Premium 100 seats and 150,000.
For a solo owner, the first step is the only one that matters. A freelancer with a contact form, a booking intake, a feedback survey and a newsletter sign-up is already past 3 forms. The prices on Zoho's own comparison page, checked on 2026-10-11, are $10 a month billed yearly or $12 a month billed monthly. Taxes are added on top.
Basic against a single payment
Basic billed yearly is $120 a year. Over three years that comes to $360, and the plan renews each time. Billed monthly it is $144 a year, or $432 over three years. MangoForm is $25 once, with no cap on forms or responses, so there is no form counter and no submission counter to watch.
That comparison holds only if MangoForm does what your forms do. If you never take payments, never ask for file uploads and never send answers into Zoho CRM, you are mostly paying Zoho for capacity. Capacity is the thing MangoForm sells at a flat price.
What MangoForm gives you instead
Forms show one question at a time with a progress bar, or group several questions on one page. There are around 20 question types, including rating, NPS, opinion scale, ranking, matrix and a time question. Skip logic sends people to another question or an end screen based on their answers. You can set colors, fonts and a logo, add custom CSS, put a password on a form, embed it as a popup or side panel, and serve it from your own domain. The Powered by badge is off by default.
Answers land in a table that exports to CSV, and each form reports views, starts, completion rate, average time and where people stop. You can be emailed on each response or once a day. A webhook posts each submission as JSON to your URL, with an optional secret header but no signature and no retries, and responses can go to a Zapier hook. A read-only REST API uses a key from Settings. There is no write API.
Moving over from Zoho Forms
There is no import from Zoho Forms, so each form is rebuilt by hand. A simple contact form or survey takes a few minutes, and the template gallery gives you a start. Export your submissions from Zoho before you cancel, because that data stays in your Zoho account. Keep any form that takes payments or uploads on Zoho. The Free plan can hold up to 3 of them while the rest move to MangoForm.
FAQ
Is the Zoho Forms free plan enough for me?
If you need 3 forms or fewer, get under 500 submissions a month and work alone, yes, and you should stay. MangoForm becomes worth $25 when you need more forms than that and do not need what Zoho's paid plans add.
Can MangoForm take payments like Zoho Forms?
No. MangoForm has no payment field. Zoho Forms lists many payment gateways. If a form has to collect money, keep it on Zoho Forms or send people to a separate payment link after they submit.
What happens when I pass the submission limit on each?
Zoho Forms ties each plan to a monthly submission count, from 500 on Free to 150,000 on Premium, and it sells extra submissions as a yearly add-on. MangoForm has no cap on forms or responses, so there is no count to pass.
Is MangoForm really a one-time payment?
Yes, $25 once, with no monthly fee. Lifetime means for as long as we run the app. If we ever shut it down, you get 30 days' notice and an export of your data. There is also a 14-day full refund.
Can I get MangoForm together with other apps?
Yes. MangoForm is part of the $49 bundle, which is also a one-time payment. A form can end with a step that books a meeting in PeachCalendar once both apps are connected.
Pay once. Keep it.
MangoForm is $25 one time. The bundle is $29 one time and includes MangoForm and our other live apps, with future updates.
