Testimonial collection tool · updated October 10, 2026
A Testimonial.to alternative for text-first collectors
Testimonial.to is a serious product with a long feature list: video recording, imports from social networks and review sites, automated invitations, an API. Most of that sits on plans that cost several hundred dollars a year. If you use it for the video recorder, stay there. Nothing I built replaces it.
This page is for a narrower group: people who collect written testimonials, maybe with a face photo, show them on one site, and pay a monthly or yearly fee for that. KiwiProof does exactly that for $29 once on the Solo plan, or $59 once on Pro for unlimited spaces. Below, the prices from Testimonial.to's own page, a feature-by-feature check, and the cases where you should not switch.
KiwiProof is a good fit if
- You collect mostly written testimonials and show them on one website
- You pay for Starter only to get unlimited text testimonials and widgets without branding
- You are fine with a pasted YouTube or Loom link when a customer sends a video
- You want to own the tool and export your data as CSV whenever you like
Stay on Testimonial.to if
- You need customers to record video testimonials inside the form
- You rely on imports from social networks and review sites, or on automated email invitations
- You need an API, Zapier, a custom domain or several team seats

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years
Starter is the cheapest Testimonial.to plan with unlimited text testimonials, widgets without branding and one space, which is what KiwiProof Solo covers. It shows $25 a month on yearly billing, $300 a year. The monthly-billing price was not displayed on the page we checked. The Free plan costs $0 but caps you at 10 text testimonials in total. Switching saves nothing until you outgrow that cap.

Where Testimonial.to is better
Video recording and hosting
Testimonial.to records video right in the collection form, up to 2 minutes on Free and Starter and 5 minutes on Ultimate, and hosts it for you. KiwiProof cannot record or host anything. It embeds a YouTube or Loom link you paste in. If video is why you collect proof, this alone decides it.
Imports from social networks and review sites
Even the Free plan on Testimonial.to has unlimited imports from X and LinkedIn, and Starter adds social and review imports. In KiwiProof you add a testimonial by hand: you paste the text, the author and a link to the original post. That is fine for ten quotes and tedious for two hundred.
Automation, API and team seats
Ultimate lists automated invitations, a REST API, MCP, webhooks and Zapier, and invites for team members. Ultimate + adds NPS surveys, case study collection and SOC 2 Type II. KiwiProof has none of this, and it is a one-person tool.
A free tier and a custom domain
Testimonial.to's Free plan costs nothing and includes a public page and widgets. Starter includes a custom domain. KiwiProof has no free plan; on Pro, the public wall can be served on your own domain.
What you pay on Testimonial.to
On Testimonial.to's pricing page, with the yearly toggle on, Starter is $25 a month ($300 billed annually), Ultimate is $50 a month per space ($600 a year) and Ultimate + is $95 a month per space ($1,140 a year). Every paid plan has a 7-day trial. I could not read a monthly-billing price from the page, so I don't quote one.
Notice the "per space" on the upper plans. A space is one collection setup for one product or brand. Each extra space costs another $600 or $1,140 a year. Starter and Free include one space.
The cost math, with Starter as the reference
I compare KiwiProof Solo against Starter because that is the plan a text-first user needs. Starter costs $300 a year. KiwiProof Solo costs $29 once. Starter is billed $300 up front for the year, more than ten times the KiwiProof license, and over three years Starter costs $900 against $29.
If you run several products, KiwiProof Pro is $59 once for unlimited spaces. The same layout on Testimonial.to means one Ultimate subscription per space. That gap grows fast, but only if you really need Ultimate features. If you only need written proof for each product, Pro is the comparison that matters.
On the Free plan the math flips. You pay nothing, up to 10 text and 2 video testimonials in total. If you never pass that, you save nothing by switching.
What KiwiProof does with text and photos
Each space gets a shareable collection form that needs no login. A customer enters a name, a role or company, a star rating, the testimonial text and, optionally, a photo and a YouTube or Loom link. They must tick a consent box before they can submit, and the database refuses to approve a testimonial without that consent. A hidden honeypot field and rate limits keep spam out of the public form.
Submissions land in an inbox. You approve, reject, edit the name, role or text, tag, or delete each one. Only approved testimonials show up in widgets. You can display them as a wall of love, a carousel or a single quote, in light or dark, embedded with a script tag or an iframe. There is no KiwiProof badge on the widgets. Each space also has a public wall page you can link to.
To get testimonials in the first place, each space has a request kit: an editable message, your collection link and a downloadable QR code. You copy the message or open it in your own email app. KiwiProof does not send emails for you.
When to stay on Testimonial.to
Stay if video testimonials are central to your business, if you pull proof from social networks in bulk, or if you want invitations to go out automatically. Stay if you are on the Free plan and under the cap. Stay if your team needs seats, or if you wire testimonials into other tools through the API or Zapier.
Switch if your Starter bill is the main thing you notice about it, your testimonials are mostly written, and the widgets and a public wall are all you use. That is a smaller group than Testimonial.to's whole audience, and this page is written for it.
Moving over
There is no automatic import into KiwiProof. You add each existing testimonial by hand with its author and a link to the original. I would move your best ten to twenty and leave the rest. Keep your Testimonial.to account until your widgets work on your site, and cancel the subscription once they do. Refunds on KiwiProof are full for 14 days, so you can try it on a real site first.
FAQ
Does KiwiProof record video testimonials?
No. Video is a pasted YouTube or Loom link that KiwiProof embeds in the widget. It does not record or host video. If customers need to record inside the form, Testimonial.to is the right tool.
How much does Testimonial.to cost compared with KiwiProof?
Testimonial.to Starter shows $25 a month on yearly billing, $300 a year, on its pricing page checked on 2026-10-04. KiwiProof Solo is $29 once for one space and Pro is $59 once for unlimited spaces.
Can I import my existing testimonials into KiwiProof?
Only by hand. You paste the text, the author and a link to the original post. KiwiProof does not pull from social networks or review sites, so a large archive means a lot of copying.
Can I export my KiwiProof data?
Yes. Every testimonial in a space can be exported as a CSV, and you can delete a space or your whole account, which removes testimonials, photos and logos.
What does lifetime mean for KiwiProof?
It means as long as we run the app. If we ever shut it down, you get 30 days' notice and an export of your data. Refunds are full for 14 days.
Pay once. Keep it.
KiwiProof is $29 one time. The bundle is $29 one time and includes KiwiProof and our other live apps, with future updates.
