A Tally Pro alternative for people who'd rather pay once

Let's start with the awkward truth: Tally's free plan is excellent. Unlimited forms and submissions, conditional logic, file uploads, payments and signatures, all for $0. If that's what you use, keep using it. We'd be lying if we told you to switch.

This page is for people paying for Tally Pro, which costs $24 a month on yearly billing, usually to remove Tally's branding and polish their forms. MangoForm costs $25, one time. Here's how the two compare, feature by feature, including the places where Tally is ahead.

MangoForm is a good fit if

  • You pay for Tally Pro mostly to remove the "Made with Tally" branding
  • You prefer one-question-at-a-time forms to long single pages
  • You want branded forms (logo, colors, fonts, custom CSS) without a monthly plan
  • You're a solo maker or small team who'd rather own a tool than rent it

Stay on Tally if

  • You're on Tally's free plan and happy with it: it costs nothing
  • You collect payments, signatures or file uploads in your forms
  • You need a custom domain, partial submissions or email notifications to respondents

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Tally Pro is the plan people pay for, shown on Tally's pricing page at $24 a month with yearly billing ("2 months off"). We don't list the monthly-billing price because the page we checked didn't display it. If you're on Tally Free, your cost is $0 and MangoForm won't save you money.

Where Tally is better

Tally's free plan beats our price

Our one-time $25 can't compete with $0. Tally Free includes unlimited forms and submissions, logic, payments, signatures and file uploads. For most people with simple needs, Tally Free is the right answer, and we'd rather tell you that than lose your trust.

Payments, signatures and file uploads

Tally offers all three, even for free. MangoForm has none of them today. If a form needs to take money or receive a document, Tally wins outright.

Pro features we don't have

Tally Pro adds custom domains, partial submissions (capturing answers from people who never hit submit), email notifications to you and your respondents, version history and premium integrations like Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. MangoForm has none of these.

Integrations

Tally connects to tools like Notion, Google Sheets, Airtable and Zapier. MangoForm relies on webhooks, which can feed the same tools through an automation service but take more setup.

When MangoForm makes sense over Tally

The case for MangoForm is narrow, and we'd rather be clear about it. It's for people who already decided to pay for a form builder and object to paying every month. At $24 a month on yearly billing, Tally Pro adds up to $288 a year. MangoForm is $25 once and has no form or response limit, so after roughly one month of Pro it has paid for itself.

The second reason is format. Tally is a document-style builder: you type your form like a page, and split it into steps with page breaks. MangoForm is built around the conversational, one-question-at-a-time format from the start, with a progress bar and skip logic that can jump respondents to a different question or straight to an end screen.

What you get in MangoForm for $25

Around 20 question types, from text, email and phone fields to ratings, NPS, opinion scales, rankings, matrices, dropdowns and a legal consent block. Your own colors, fonts and logo, plus custom CSS, and no "Powered by" badge unless you choose to show one. Password protection for private forms. Embed codes for an inline block, a popup, a side panel or full screen.

Behind the scenes there's a responses table, basic analytics (views, starts, completion rate, average time), CSV export, a template library you can add your own templates to, workspaces for collaborators, and a webhook on each submission. The respondent interface is available in English and French.

What you'd give up leaving Tally Pro

Make a list of what you actually use in Tally before you move. If it includes payments, file uploads, signatures, partial submissions, custom domains or submission emails, MangoForm isn't ready for you, and switching would cost more in workarounds than it saves in fees.

If your list is "nice-looking forms without someone else's logo, and a spreadsheet of answers", downgrade Tally to Free, keep it for the forms that need its extra blocks, and build the rest in MangoForm.

FAQ

Is Tally free?

Yes. Tally's free plan includes unlimited forms and submissions within its fair-use policy. Paid plans start with Pro at $24 a month on yearly billing, which removes Tally branding and adds custom domains and other features.

Why would I pay $25 for MangoForm if Tally is free?

You probably shouldn't, if Tally Free covers you. MangoForm is for people who'd otherwise pay for Tally Pro or Typeform every month, and for those who prefer conversational, one-question-at-a-time forms.

Does MangoForm have a free plan?

No. MangoForm unlocks with a one-time $25 payment, or with the $49 F*ckSubscription bundle license, which also includes our link-in-bio and scheduling apps.

Can MangoForm send me an email for each submission?

Not yet. Responses appear in your dashboard and can be sent onward with a webhook. Tally Pro does include email notifications.

Can I use a custom domain for my forms?

Not as an advertised feature today. Tally Pro offers custom domains, so if that's a requirement, Tally is the better choice.
