A QR TIGER alternative you pay for once

QR TIGER is a full QR code platform with a free plan, and for a lot of people that is the right answer. This page is for the ones who printed a dynamic code, saw the plan terms and noticed one detail: on QR TIGER, a dynamic code is valid only for the period you paid for.

LimeQR does a narrower job. It makes dynamic QR codes and short links whose destination you can change after printing, with scan counts per day, country and device. It costs $19 once for 100 codes, or $39 once for 1,000. Below you will find QR TIGER's US prices as published today, the arithmetic, the exact words QR TIGER uses about expiring plans, and a long list of things QR TIGER does that LimeQR does not.

LimeQR is a good fit if

  • You pay QR TIGER mainly to keep a few dozen printed codes pointing at a URL you can edit
  • You need to change a destination after printing, and to see how many scans came in per day, country and device
  • You make a batch of codes from a spreadsheet and want the SVG files and a CSV of every short link back
  • You would rather pay once than renew a plan each year so that printed codes keep working

Stay on QR TIGER if

  • You rely on QR TIGER's dynamic vCard, App Store or file-hosting codes (LimeQR's free tools make static vCard codes only: no editing, no scan counts)
  • You use its integrations, API, Google Analytics hook, retargeting, password protection or scan expiry
  • You need several users on one account, or geolocation and geofencing
  • QR TIGER's free plan already covers you: three dynamic codes with 500 scans each is enough for a one-off event

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Advanced is the cheapest QR TIGER plan that allows as many dynamic codes as LimeQR Solo (100). It is billed annually, about $192 a year, against $19 once. If you only need 12 dynamic codes or fewer, QR TIGER Regular at $65 a year is the fairer comparison, and the gap is smaller.

What LimeQR does

Only features that exist in LimeQR today. If it isn't in this table, assume we don't have it.

Where QR TIGER is better

Many more kinds of codes

QR TIGER's plans list vCard and App Store codes, file storage with uploads up to 5MB, 10MB or 20MB depending on the plan, and Smart Multi URL codes that route a scan by rule. LimeQR's dynamic codes, the ones you can repoint and count, only point to a web address. Its free tools make static vCard, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp and Google review codes, which can't be edited or tracked. If your codes carry editable contact cards or hosted files, QR TIGER is the right tool.

Integrations and an API

Every paid QR TIGER plan lists an API, a Google Analytics integration, Zapier and Hubspot, and a Canva integration. The API allowance goes from 500 to 10,000 requests a month with the plan. LimeQR has none of that: you work in its dashboard and import or export CSV files.

Campaign tools

QR TIGER lists password protection, scan expiry dates, custom UTM parameters, a retargeting tool, scan notifications, precision geolocation tracking and geofencing. Marketing teams running paid campaigns use these. LimeQR has no equivalent for any of them.

More users, and a higher support tier

QR TIGER lists a white-label domain on its paid plans, one domain on Premium, along with a higher tier of support. LimeQR can serve codes on your own domain too, so what is left is people and support: an account is for one person, and support comes from one developer.

A free plan, and higher analytics detail

QR TIGER lets you try dynamic codes at no cost: three of them, 500 scans each. LimeQR is paid from the start. QR TIGER also lists advanced scan analytics on paid plans, while LimeQR keeps daily totals per country and device for the last 30 days.

Why QR TIGER users start looking around

The free plan is clear about its limits: three dynamic codes, and 500 scans for each one. On QR TIGER's pricing page the first paid step is Regular, at $7 a month or $65 billed yearly, with 12 dynamic codes. Beyond that, Advanced lists 200 dynamic codes at $16 a month billed annually, and Premium lists 600 at $37 a month billed annually.

Those are reasonable prices for a tool with that many features. The pressure comes from what a dynamic code is: a short link that QR TIGER redirects for you. That redirect is part of the plan, not something you own, which is the point of the next section.

What QR TIGER says about codes when the plan ends

QR TIGER answers this on its own pricing page, in the FAQ. Under "How do your subscription plans work?" it says: "If you pay for one year, you get x amount of dynamic QR codes following your plan. They are valid only for that period of time." Under "Is there a scan limit to the dynamic QR codes created under any paid plans?" it says: "Your QR codes will only stop working once the plan expires."

I read that as plain and fair: you pay for a year of dynamic codes, and the codes run for that year. The page does not describe a grace period or what happens to codes after the plan ends, so I will not guess. It does say you can renew two days before the plan expires, and that reminder emails are sent. If you have printed a dynamic code on packaging or a menu, the renewal date is the date to remember.

The pricing page also does not say what happens to the three free dynamic codes once they reach 500 scans. I could not find it there, so I leave it out.

What LimeQR does today

A dynamic code in LimeQR encodes a short link that sits on the LimeQR domain, or on your own domain if you connect one (1 on Solo, 5 on Pro). The address is random, seven characters, or a custom one you choose, and it is fixed once created and never reassigned after deletion. You change the destination whenever you like, and the next scan follows it. Each scan is a plain 302 redirect that is never cached.

You can set the code and background colors, with a contrast check, square, rounded or dot modules, a logo in the center and an optional frame with text. Downloads are SVG, or PNG at 1024 or 2048 pixels. Every code page also offers a static version of the code that points straight at the destination. It keeps working without LimeQR, but it cannot be edited and its scans are not counted.

Scan stats are daily totals per country and device type for the last 30 days. No IP address or user agent is stored, and link previews and bots are not counted. You can create codes in bulk from a CSV, 100 rows at a time on Solo and 500 on Pro, with a ZIP of the codes as SVG. You can export every code with its short link and destination as CSV, even without an active plan.

Solo or Pro, and how the math works

Solo is $19 once and covers 100 codes, with 10,000 tracked scans a month. Pro is $39 once and covers 1,000 codes, with 100,000 tracked scans a month. Redirects themselves have no monthly cap: above the tracked-scan quota, codes keep redirecting and only the counting pauses until the next month.

Against QR TIGER Advanced, which lists 200 dynamic codes at $16 a month billed annually, LimeQR Solo costs less than one month. If you need only 12 codes, QR TIGER Regular on yearly billing is $65, so Solo pays for itself within the first year. The honest question is whether you use what the higher plans add. If the API, the Zapier hook or the retargeting tool is part of your weekly work, you are paying for real work and should stay.

What you would lose by leaving QR TIGER

Make a list of what you use before you decide. If it includes editable vCard codes, hosted files, integrations, scan notifications or an API, LimeQR will feel like a step backwards, and a lower price will not make up for hours of workaround.

If your list is closer to "a code that points at a URL, that I can repoint after printing, with scan counts", a one-time purchase is a reasonable trade. You can also run both for a while: leave existing QR TIGER codes where they are until the plan ends, and make new ones in LimeQR.

Refunds and what lifetime means

Every purchase has a 14-day full refund. Lifetime means for as long as we run the app. If we ever shut it down, you get 30 days' notice and an export of your data. LimeQR is built and supported by one person, Martin, at martin@fcksubscription.com.

FAQ

Does QR TIGER have a free plan?

Yes. The free plan lists unlimited static QR codes and 3 dynamic QR codes with 500 scans per dynamic code, plus basic analytics, with a QR TIGER logo popup. Paid plans start at Regular, $7 a month or $65 billed yearly.

What happens to my QR TIGER dynamic codes when the plan expires?

QR TIGER's pricing FAQ says dynamic codes are "valid only for that period of time" and that "Your QR codes will only stop working once the plan expires." It does not describe what happens after that, so check with QR TIGER before you rely on a printed code.

What do QR TIGER's paid plans cost in US dollars?

On the pricing page set to USD: Regular is $7 a month, or $65 billed yearly, with 12 dynamic codes. Advanced is $16 a month billed annually with 200 dynamic codes, and Premium is $37 a month billed annually with 600. Prices checked on October 10, 2026.

What is the difference between LimeQR Solo and Pro?

Solo is $19 once and includes 100 codes and 10,000 tracked scans a month. Pro is $39 once and includes 1,000 codes and 100,000 tracked scans a month. Both are one-time payments.

What if I want out of LimeQR later?

You can export every code with its short link and destination as CSV at any time, even without an active plan, and each code page offers a static version that keeps working without LimeQR. The purchase is covered by a 14-day full refund.

Can I move my codes from QR TIGER to LimeQR?

Not as a printed code: a QR TIGER dynamic code points at QR TIGER's address, so it stays under its plan. You create new codes in LimeQR, singly or from a CSV of destinations, and reprint where you want them to be editable by you.
