A Milkshake app alternative with no renewal

Milkshake is free, and the free plan is a real one. You build a swipeable site from your phone, publish it, and keep it online with unlimited links and Cards, color and font changes, a QR code and 30 days of analytics. If that is all you need, close this tab and stay. I mean it.

This page is for a smaller group: people who started on the free plan and then ran into the Milkshake branding on their page, or who want their own domain on it. On Milkshake's site, branding removal is the Lite plan at $2.99 a month, and a custom domain is Pro+ at $99.99 a year. Both are subscriptions that go through the App Store or Google Play.

GrapeLink does those two things for $8, once. It is also a different kind of product. Milkshake is a phone app with Cards, a store and mailing list tools. GrapeLink is a web link page builder, and a plain one. Below you will find the prices I read on Milkshake's own pricing page, the math over five years, and the cases where Milkshake is clearly the better pick.

GrapeLink is a good fit if

  • You pay for Milkshake Lite only so the Milkshake branding disappears from your page
  • You pay for Pro+ mostly to put your own domain on a link page
  • You would rather make one $8 payment than renew a plan every month or every year
  • You want a few link pages on one account, each with its own address, and you manage them from a browser

Stay on Milkshake if

  • You build your page on your phone and like swiping between Cards
  • You sell digital files through the Stripe selling feature on your Milkshake site
  • You need a contact form, a mailing list synced to Sheets or Mailchimp, or a Meta pixel
  • You are happy on the free plan: it costs nothing and GrapeLink has no free tier

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Lite is the cheapest Milkshake plan that removes the branding, which is the main thing GrapeLink changes for most people. Pro+ is the one with a custom domain, so if you need both you compare against $99.99 a year, not Lite. On the free plan you pay $0 and this math does not apply.

Where Milkshake is better

A free plan that is not a trial

Milkshake's free plan keeps your site online for good, with unlimited links and Cards and a QR code. GrapeLink has no free tier. If the branding does not bother you, paying $8 gets you nothing you were missing.

Built for the phone

You make and edit a Milkshake site inside its iOS and Android app, and visitors swipe through Cards like a story. GrapeLink is edited in a browser and shows a classic stack of links. If your whole workflow is on your phone, that matters.

Selling and audience tools

Milkshake lets you sell digital files through Stripe on every plan, and Pro adds a contact form, a mailing list synced to Sheets or Mailchimp, a Meta pixel and SEO fields. GrapeLink has no store and no tracking pixel; its email sign-up block stores addresses but isn't synced to Sheets or Mailchimp.

Longer analytics history

Pro keeps 365 days of Insights and lets you export them. GrapeLink counts clicks per link with a device breakdown, and does not offer an export or a year of history.

What Milkshake costs, from its pricing page

I read Milkshake's pricing page on 2026-10-10 in its US version. Free is $0. Lite is $2.99 a month, shown as billed monthly. Pro is $5.00 a month when billed yearly, which is $59.99 for the year, and $6.99 on a monthly bill. Pro+ is $8.33 a month billed yearly, which is $99.99 for the year, with a quarterly option at $29.99.

The page says actual prices may vary by country and platform, and the FAQ says subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. So the number you see in your store can differ from mine. Check it before you decide.

The five-year math

If you only want the branding gone, Lite at $2.99 a month is $35.88 a year and $179.40 over five years. GrapeLink is $8 once. The gap is real but it starts small: you break even a bit after three months, and the difference grows only if you keep the page for years.

If you also want your own domain, Milkshake sends you to Pro+. At $99.99 a year that is $499.95 over five years, against $8. That is the case where this page matters most. A link page with a custom domain is a small job, and paying $100 every year for it is the part I find hard to defend.

None of this is a reason to switch if you use what Pro and Pro+ give you. A mailing list, a pixel and SEO fields are worth money to some people. They are just not what GrapeLink does.

What GrapeLink gives you

GrapeLink is a link page builder, and you get what is on the list and nothing more. Unlimited links, drag-and-drop ordering, a spotlight link, several pages on one account, 14 preset themes, custom colors, a background image, button styles and fonts, a share button and a QR code. You can hide the Made with GrapeLink footer and serve a page on your own domain: add it in the page settings, set the DNS record shown, verify.

Clicks are counted per link, with a device breakdown. If you also own other F*ckSubscription apps, a page can show a PeachCalendar booking page, a MangoForm form, a KiwiProof widget or a DurianStatus status badge. The bundle with every app is $49 one-time.

Who should stay on Milkshake

Stay if you are on the free plan and happy, if you build from your phone, or if you sell files through the page. GrapeLink has no Cards and no selling, and its sign-up block only collects addresses, so moving would mean losing something you use.

The people it suits are those who keep a paid Milkshake plan for the branding or the domain only. For them, one $8 payment gives the same visible result, and the purchase carries a 14-day full refund if the page does not work out.

FAQ

Is Milkshake really free?

Yes. Milkshake's FAQ says you can create, publish and share a site completely for free, with no credit card. Paid plans remove the branding (Lite), add tools such as forms and a mailing list (Pro) and add a custom domain (Pro+).

How much does it cost to remove the Milkshake branding?

On Milkshake's US pricing page, Lite is $2.99 a month, which is $35.88 over 12 months. Checked on 2026-10-10. Prices can differ by country and app store.

Can GrapeLink remove branding and use my own domain?

Yes. You can hide the Made with GrapeLink footer, and add your own domain in the page settings by setting the DNS record shown and verifying it. Both are part of the $8 purchase.

Does GrapeLink have a mobile app like Milkshake?

No. GrapeLink runs in the browser, and you edit your page there. Visitors see a normal stack of links, not swipeable Cards.

Can GrapeLink sell files or collect emails?

It can collect emails, not sell. GrapeLink has an email sign-up block (addresses you can export, nothing is sent) but no store. It can show a MangoForm form on the page if you also own MangoForm, but the page itself is only links.
