A Featurebase alternative that costs the same this year and next

Featurebase has a free plan, and it is a fair one: one seat, one feedback board, one roadmap, unlimited posts and comments, unlimited end users. The trouble starts when a founder wants the board on feedback.theirsite.com, a widget inside the product, or a public changelog. Its pricing page lists those from Growth, at $29 per seat per month, and Growth is priced per person on your team.

FigVote covers that group for one payment: $39 for a project, $79 for unlimited projects. This page sets Featurebase's published prices next to ours, works out the break-even, and names what Featurebase has that FigVote does not. Featurebase now sells a wider support suite, so read the second half before you decide.

FigVote is a good fit if

  • You are on Featurebase Free and have hit its walls: no custom domain, no widget, no changelog page, no approval queue
  • You are one person or two, and a per-seat price makes every extra teammate a new monthly line
  • You want a board, a roadmap and a changelog and do not use Featurebase's chat, surveys or help center
  • You would rather settle the cost on day one than renew it every month while the board sits quiet

Stay on Featurebase if

  • You are happy on Featurebase Free with one board and one roadmap: that costs nothing, and nothing beats it on price
  • You depend on its connections to Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot, Jira or ClickUp, or you sync with Segment
  • You want its AI features for duplicate suggestions, or its help center, surveys and in-app messages from the same account

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Growth is the cheapest Featurebase plan with a custom domain, widgets and a changelog page, which is what FigVote Solo includes. Its price is per seat, so one seat is the smallest bill; every extra teammate adds $29. Featurebase's page shows a monthly figure only, so no annual price is quoted.

Where Featurebase is better

A free plan that is really usable

Featurebase's Free plan has unlimited posts, comments and end users on one board and one roadmap. FigVote has no free plan: it is $39 before anything is public. If one board is all you need and you can live with the Featurebase address, the free plan wins on cost.

Integrations with the tools around support

Its integrations page lists Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot, Jira, ClickUp, Linear, GitHub, Slack, Discord, Zapier and Segment. FigVote connects to Linear and GitHub, posts to Slack and Discord, and sends signed webhooks. If your team lives in Intercom or Zendesk, Featurebase reaches it and FigVote does not.

Revenue data and prioritization

Growth lists revenue data sync, and its higher plans add custom post fields and a prioritization module. FigVote counts votes and shows who cast them, but it does not weigh requests by what customers pay.

More than a feedback board

The same account holds a shared inbox, surveys, a help center, banners and an AI assistant. A company that wants one vendor for support and product feedback gets that from Featurebase. FigVote does one job.

What the seat price adds up to

Growth at $29 for one seat is $348 over twelve months and $696 over two years. A second person with a seat takes that to $696 a year. Professional at $59 is $708 a year for one seat and $1,416 for two. The pricing page lists monthly figures, so these totals assume you pay the listed amount every month.

The Free plan is a real option, and the numbers above only matter once you need something it leaves out. The three that push people out are the custom domain, the widget and the changelog page. Each is a normal thing to want once customers start asking where to send ideas.

What FigVote includes for the same job

A FigVote project has a public board under your own name, logo and color, with no FigVote branding on the board or the widget. Reading needs no account; voting, posting and commenting need a sign-in. Team replies carry a Team badge. You can hold new posts for approval, pin and tag them, and move them through open, planned, in progress, shipped and closed.

The roadmap is built from the same posts, and the changelog links entries to posts, can mark them shipped when you publish, and has an RSS feed. You can schedule an entry for later. A script tag adds the Feedback button to your site, and one custom domain per project serves the board, roadmap and changelog.

Solo is $39 once: one project, two admins, 2,000 notification emails a month. Pro is $79 once: unlimited projects, five admins, 10,000 emails. The $49 bundle includes FigVote Pro together with every other app.

Where the break-even lands

Against Growth with one seat, Solo is paid back in a little over a month and Pro in under three months. With two seats the gap closes faster. Against Professional, which you would pick only for moderation and privacy controls, Solo includes an approval queue and private boards for the price of a single month.

Two limits belong in the sum. Solo caps notification emails at 2,000 a month; past that, emails pause until the 1st and the board keeps working. And Solo has two admins, so a team where more people triage requests needs Pro.

Moving over from Featurebase

FigVote imports Canny's export format, not Featurebase's. Coming from Featurebase, export what you want to keep and recreate the requests still open; on a young board that takes an afternoon. Votes and voters do not come across, so pin a post telling people where the board moved and link it from your footer.

Since Featurebase bills monthly, there is no renewal date to wait for. Run both boards for a few weeks, mark old requests shipped as you finish them, then cancel.
