A Canny alternative you pay for once
Canny has a Free plan, and for a small product that is a fair place to stay. This page is for the teams that ran into its limits: you went past 25 tracked users, or you wanted the board on your own domain, and the next step is a monthly subscription that grows with the number of people who give you feedback.
FigVote does a narrower job. It gives each project a public feedback board with voting, comments, a roadmap, a changelog and a widget, on your own domain, with no FigVote branding. It costs $39 once. Below are Canny's actual prices at every tracked-user step, what each plan includes, what Canny says happens when you cancel, and a plain list of what Canny does that FigVote does not.
FigVote is a good fit if
- You pay for Canny Pro mainly for a custom domain and a board that shows only your own brand
- Your users give feedback on a public board with votes and comments, and you answer with a roadmap and a changelog
- Your tracked-user count keeps growing, and you would rather not see the monthly price move up with every step
- You want to moderate new posts before they go public, which Canny does not offer
Stay on Canny if
- You rely on Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Asana, GitHub, Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot or Salesforce integrations, because FigVote has none of them
- You need SSO through Okta, OIDC, Entra ID or OneLogin, an API, AI that captures feedback from support chats and calls, or segmenting feedback by customer revenue
- Your users attach screenshots or files to their posts, or you want people to vote without signing in
- You are well inside Canny's Free plan: with 25 tracked users or fewer and the Canny subdomain, there is nothing to save

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years
Pro is the cheapest Canny plan with a custom domain, which is the usual reason to leave Free. The fair comparison is the first Pro step, 100 tracked users, at $79 a month on yearly billing ($948 a year) or $99 on monthly billing ($1,188 a year). FigVote is $39 once, so it costs less than two months of that first step on yearly billing. Every higher step makes Canny dearer, not FigVote.

| Comments on posts; replies from the project's team are marked Team | Included | Yes, plus internal comments on Pro and Business |

| Webhooks on new posts and status changes: HMAC-signed JSON, or a Slack or Discord incoming webhook | Included | API and webhooks listed on every plan, Free included |

Where Canny is better
Integrations with the tools your team already lives in
Canny lists Jira, ClickUp, Linear, Asana, GitHub and Azure DevOps for project management, Intercom, Zendesk and Slack for feedback capture, and Zapier. Most of these start at Pro. FigVote has none of them, only webhooks on new posts and status changes. If a post has to turn into a Jira ticket automatically, stay on Canny.
AI that collects feedback for you
Canny's Autopilot reads support and sales conversations, finds feedback, merges duplicates and triages it, and Canny says it is included in all plans. FigVote has no AI. Posts get in because someone writes them on the board, and you merge duplicates by hand.
Single sign-on, segmentation and revenue-aware reporting
Canny's Business plan lists SSO through Okta, OIDC, Entra ID and OneLogin, and CRM integrations with HubSpot and Salesforce. Pro lists user segmentation and custom fields. Canny's pricing page pitches tying feedback to opportunity revenue. FigVote has no Okta, OIDC, Entra ID or OneLogin connection and no way to weigh votes by what a company pays.
A larger and older product
Canny has a public API, an SDK, SOC 2 listed on Pro and Business, content translations and smart replies on Pro. FigVote is a young product with a short feature list. If your security review or your process asks for any of those, FigVote will not pass it.
What Canny's pricing is based on
Canny does not charge per seat. It charges by tracked users, which its help center defines as anybody with an attributed post, vote or comment. Admins who post or vote count too, and so do people you vote on behalf of. Visitors who only read the board do not count. Canny also says a tracked user stays tracked while they have a post, vote or comment attributed to them, and that a user whose only post is closed or completed stops counting unless they voted on another open post.
The Free plan stops at 25 tracked users. Pro starts at 100 and moves up in steps. The pricing page says that if you go over and have not set a monthly spend limit, Canny upgrades you to the next tier and charges a prorated amount for the rest of the billing period. With a spend limit set, Canny stops tracking feedback from new users once you reach it.
That structure rewards a quiet board and charges a busy one more. A feedback board that works, with people voting and commenting, is exactly what pushes the count up.
Canny Pro at each tracked-user step
Canny lists the full ladder in its help center (https://help.canny.io/en/articles/9131812-canny-s-billing-plans) and the same numbers appear on its pricing page (https://canny.io/pricing) when the slider moves. Each figure below is Pro, in US dollars per month, shown as monthly billing then yearly billing. At 100 tracked users: $99 and $79. At 200: $161 and $129. At 300: $224 and $179. At 500: $349 and $279. At 1,000: $661 and $529. At 2,000: $911 and $729. At 2,500: $1,036 and $829. At 5,000: $1,349 and $1,079. Steps in between are listed on the same pages.
Read the yearly column as a monthly equivalent. At the 1,000 tracked-user step, $529 a month is $6,348 for the year. Canny says yearly billing saves up to 20%. Above 5,000 tracked users, and for features like branding removal, you talk to sales for a Business quote.
Against that ladder, FigVote is $39 once, whatever the number of people who vote. Its limits are different ones: Solo includes one project, 2 admins, owner included, and 2,000 notification emails a month per license, and Pro, at $79 once, covers unlimited projects, 5 admins and 10,000 emails a month. The higher FigVote plan raises those to 5 admins and 10,000 emails. Past the email cap, emails pause until the 1st and the board keeps working.
What each Canny plan gates
Custom domains need Pro. Canny's own help page says custom domains are only available on paid plans, and the Free plan article says the board then lives on a canny.io subdomain. Private boards are not gated: Canny says they are available on all plans, and that they are visible only to admins. Boards for chosen people, such as signed-in customers or a segment, are a Pro feature. Posting, voting and comments by end users are on every plan.
On the pricing page the Remove branding row has no mark under Free or Pro and a mark under Business, and Canny's billing article describes removing the Powered by Canny branding as an optional add-on of the Business plan. That means a branded board on Pro. FigVote puts no FigVote branding on public pages or on the widget.
Integrations are gated by plan too. Free lists feedback-capture and notification integrations (Intercom, Zendesk, Slack, the Chrome extension, Microsoft Teams, Discord). Pro adds project-management tools, Zapier and MCP connectors. Business adds SSO and CRM.
What Canny says happens when you cancel or downgrade
These are Canny's own words. On cancelling (https://help.canny.io/en/articles/10082976-canceling-your-canny-account): "You will retain access to Canny through the end of your current billing cycle." and "This process will NOT delete your account." On downgrading to Free from the same page: "Just select the Free plan from the Billing page, and Canny will walk you through any adjustments that need to be made."
On changing plans (https://help.canny.io/en/articles/10446960-can-i-change-or-cancel-my-plan): "Service will continue through the end of your current billing cycle (whether monthly or annual)." The billing article adds that Canny prorates changes to billing. Deleting a workspace is a separate action that Canny describes as irreversible, and a workspace with an active paid subscription has to cancel first.
Canny's pages we read do not say what happens to a custom domain or to posts beyond the Free limits when you drop to Free. Its Free plan article says custom domains are not included there. Ask Canny before you downgrade a board that has real traffic. A one-time purchase avoids the question: the board stays up and the price does not change.
What FigVote does today
Each project gets a public board at its own address with its own name, logo and brand color. Visitors can read without signing in. Voting, posting and commenting need an account, with email and password or an email link, and each account gets one vote per post. If your product already has signed-in users, 'Identify your users' lets them vote, comment and post with no FigVote account: your server signs a short-lived token for each of them, on Solo and Pro alike. Replies from your team are marked Team. You can approve new posts and comments before they go public, edit, delete, pin, add tags and move posts through open, planned, in progress, shipped and closed.
Duplicates merge: votes, comments and followers move to the post you keep, a person who voted on both keeps one vote, and the old link redirects. The roadmap page shows planned, in progress and shipped columns built from the same posts. A changelog has an RSS feed and can mark linked posts as shipped when you publish an entry. One script tag adds a Feedback button that opens the board in a panel.
A project can have several boards, public or private, and private ones are visible only to invited members. You get one custom domain per project, and the board, roadmap and changelog are served on it. Webhooks fire on new posts and status changes, signed JSON or a Slack or Discord incoming webhook. You can export posts, votes with voter emails and comments as JSON or CSV.
Refunds and what lifetime means
Every purchase from F*ckSubscription has a 14-day full refund. Lifetime means for as long as we run the app. If we ever shut it down, you get 30 days' notice and an export of your data. I am Martin, a French solo founder, and FigVote is not launched yet, so read this page as what it will be on day one rather than as a track record.
FAQ
How much is Canny Pro at 100 tracked users?
Canny's pricing page and help center list $99 a month on monthly billing and $79 a month on yearly billing for the 100 tracked-user step. That is $1,188 or $948 a year. The price then rises in steps as the tracked-user count grows, to $661 or $529 a month at 1,000.
What is a Canny tracked user?
Canny defines it as anybody with an attributed post, vote or comment. People who only read the board do not count. Admins who post or vote, and users you vote on behalf of, do count.
Does Canny have a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan is not time limited and allows 25 tracked users, with unlimited feedback and boards, private boards and a changelog. A custom domain needs a paid plan.
Do I need Canny Pro for a custom domain?
Yes. Canny's help center says custom domains are only available on its paid plans, and its pricing page shows them under Pro and Business. FigVote includes one custom domain per project in the one-time price.
Can I remove Canny branding on the Pro plan?
Not according to Canny's pricing page, where the Remove branding row is marked only under Business. Canny's billing article calls branding removal an optional Business add-on. FigVote has no FigVote branding on public pages or the widget.
What happens to my Canny board if I cancel?
Canny says you keep access through the end of your current billing cycle and that cancelling does not delete your account. Its pages we read do not say how a custom domain behaves after a downgrade, so ask Canny.
Can FigVote connect to Jira or Linear like Canny?
No. FigVote has no Jira, Linear or similar integrations. It sends webhooks on new posts and status changes, which you can point at your own tooling. If tickets must be created automatically, stay on Canny.
Can I move my Canny posts into FigVote?
Yes. Export your board from Canny as CSV or JSON and import the file in FigVote, with a preview before anything is saved. Votes arrive as a '+N earlier' count on each post, not as fake voters. Statuses are mapped (custom ones become Open), and tags, original dates and, from the JSON export, public comments come along. Posts from private Canny boards go to a private board or are skipped, and importing the same file again skips duplicates. Voters, authors and images are not imported, so it is a fresh start for people, not a copy of Canny.
Can my own users vote without creating a FigVote account?
Yes, on Solo and Pro. Your server signs a short-lived token with a secret for that project, and your signed-in users vote, comment and post on your board or widget without a FigVote account. A token works once and only on that project, 'rotate and sign everyone out' ends every session, and status emails go only to the addresses your token marks as verified. On Canny, identifying your users is a base feature, but every person who votes or comments becomes a tracked user, and the Pro price follows that count.
