Video testimonial and customer feedback software · updated October 20, 2026

A Boast alternative if you mostly collect written quotes

Boast is built around video. Its pricing page says it in the heading: pick a plan and start collecting video testimonials. Customers record in the browser, you trim and brand the clip, and the tool can send requests to your contacts in sequences. I read the pricing page on 2026-10-20 and quote only what it shows.

Boast has no free plan, only a 14-day trial with no card. The cheapest paid plan, Basic, is $59 a month billed monthly or $50 a month billed yearly, and it allows 50 responses a month. KiwiProof costs $29 once, or $59 once on Pro, and Pro is included in the F*ckSubscription bundle. If you pay Boast mainly to collect written testimonials, ratings and photos and show them on your site, the gap is large. If your proof is recorded video, this page will tell you to stay.

KiwiProof is a good fit if

  • You send customers a link, approve what comes back and show it on your site, and the answers are mostly text with a star rating
  • You signed up for Boast to get a wall or widget of testimonials and never turned on sequences or video editing
  • You work alone or with a few clients and want one payment instead of a plan sized by responses a month
  • A pasted YouTube or Loom link is enough when a customer does have a video

Stay on Boast if

  • Your customers record video inside Boast and you rely on its trimming, branding, intros, outros and downloads
  • You enroll contacts into automatic request sequences by email or SMS and want them sent for you
  • You manage many locations or staff members whose feedback must be kept apart, or you use Boast's phone support

The math over 1, 3 and 5 years

Basic is the cheapest paid Boast plan and it lists forms, widgets and CSV download, which are the parts of KiwiProof that compare. Team and Premium add more responses, SMS, locations and staff that KiwiProof does not offer. I use the yearly price of $50 a month for the main figure, because it is the lower of the two Basic prices.

Where Boast is better

Video recorded in the browser and edited for you

Boast lets customers record a clip on their phone or laptop, and its table lists trimming, cutting and reordering plus automatic intros, outros, watermarks and music. KiwiProof embeds a YouTube or Loom link you paste and does not record, host or edit anything. If video is what you sell with, Boast does the job and KiwiProof does not.

Sequences that request feedback for you

Boast lists sequences that contact people automatically, with up to 500 enrollments a month on Basic, and SMS from Team up. KiwiProof gives you a request message, a link and a QR code to send yourself, plus an optional email after a PeachCalendar meeting. It cannot message a list of customers on a schedule, so if outreach is the part you pay for, Boast does more.

Review collection beyond your own wall

The table lists tools to collect more reviews on Google, Facebook and third-party sites, and a social sharing option for people who leave feedback. KiwiProof can import your Google reviews from a Takeout export but has no connection to those platforms and no social sharing for reviewers.

Locations, staff and phone support

Boast separates feedback by business location and by staff member, from 1 location and 5 staff on Basic up to 20 and 100 on Premium, and its support page lists phone, email and chat from 9am to 5pm Eastern. KiwiProof is one login per account and support is by email to one person.

What Boast charges

Boast prices by how many responses arrive. Basic allows 50 a month, Team 150 and Premium 500, and the yearly price drops each of them by about a sixth: $59 to $50, $119 to $100, $249 to $208. There is a custom Enterprise tier for unlimited responses, which the page does not price. A 14-day trial needs no credit card, and there is no free plan after it.

The cap is the number to watch. A response is a submission to one of your forms, so a busy month of requests can hit 50 quickly, and the next step up doubles the bill. A cap that suits a quiet service business can be tight for anyone running a promotion.

The cost math against Basic

Basic billed yearly is $50 a month, which is $600 over twelve months and $1,800 over three years. Billed monthly it is $59, or $708 a year. KiwiProof Solo is $29 once and Pro is $59 once. After one year the yearly Basic bill is $571 higher than Solo and $541 higher than Pro, and the gap grows by $600 each year after that.

Boast says you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. The point of the comparison is not that Boast is overpriced for video. It is that a plan sized for video and sequences is a lot to pay for a page of written quotes.

How KiwiProof handles the same job

Each client or brand gets a space with a public collection link. You write the question and the thank-you message, add up to three extra questions that show on the wall or stay private, and choose whether rating, role, photo and video link are hidden, optional or required. Everyone ticks a consent box before submitting, and a testimonial without consent cannot be approved.

Submissions arrive in an inbox where you approve, reject, edit or tag them. Approved quotes appear as a wall, carousel, masonry grid, grid with search or a single spotlight, in light or dark, on a public page of their own or embedded on your site with a script tag or an iframe. Widgets carry no KiwiProof badge, and the Pro plan lets the wall live on your own domain.

You can export every testimonial to CSV, receive new ones through a signed webhook, and read them with a read-only API. Moving from Boast is manual: export your responses to a spreadsheet, then upload the CSV, pick the columns and approve what you want. Recorded videos do not travel in a CSV, so they stay on Boast or move as links.

When to stay on Boast

Stay if recorded video is the product you use, if sequences bring in most of your responses, or if you need separate locations and staff. Stay if the 14-day trial is all you have used so far and the video flow convinced you.

Switch if you pay for Basic, your customers mostly send a few written lines, and you notice the invoice more than the video tools. That is a narrower group than Boast's whole audience, and I would rather you check the list above than move because $50 a month sounds like a lot.
